Egypt’s State Council and Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed on Sunday a co-operation protocol to establish a consular authentication office at the State Council’s court complex in New Cairo, providing citizens with services to authenticate documents requiring certification by the Foreign Ministry.
State Council President Counselor Mahmoud Abul Dahab witnessed the signing ceremony.
The office officially opened following the signing and began providing services to the public on Sunday.
The protocol was signed by State Council Secretary-General Counselor Nasser Reda and Ambassador Haddad el Gohary, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad, representing their respective institutions, according to MENA news agency.
Abul Dahab said the co-operation protocol would help provide high-quality services to litigants and citizens while saving them time and effort. He stressed the council’s commitment to providing modern, accessible services and reducing the burdens on citizens.
Reda said the new office is fully equipped with the necessary tools and technology to provide fast and efficient consular authentication services, thanking the Foreign Ministry for its co-operation in establishing the facility.
For his part, Gohary praised the State Council and stressed the Foreign Ministry’s commitment to strengthening co-operation with state institutions, particularly judicial bodies, to improve services provided to citizens.
