CAIRO – Egypt’s Sports and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhi witnessed on Sunday the finals of CIB PSA World Tour Finals hosted by Egypt on June 21-26.
Sobhi hailed the Egyptian players as three out of four players were qualified to the final rounds of the international competition.
He noted that the Egyptian state is mobilizing all potentials to support Egyptian athletes win international and regional championships.
Egypt’s World No 2 Nour El Sherbiny defeated her compatriot Nouran Gohar (No. 1) in a strong match.
El Sherbiny won 3/0, 11/6, 11/8 and 11/5 in the final of the tournament which was held at Cairo’s Mall of Arabia with financial prizes reaching dlrs 200,000.
Also, Egypt’s world No 4 Mostafa Asal has retained the men’s title following a 3-0, 13-11, 11-8, 11-7 victory over men’s World No.2 Paul Coll.
The CIB PSA World Tour Finals is the season finale for the 2021-22 PSA World Tour season.
