CAIRO – Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly asserted the role of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Development Authority (MSMEDA) in achieving the State’s economic and social development goals through the authority’s providing of an integrated package of financial and non-financial services for business owners.
The premier’s remarks were made during his meeting with Chairman of MSMEDA Bassel Rahmy to follow up on a number of work files implemented by the authority.
Rahmy reviewed the activities carried out by MSMEDA during the period from January to April of the current year, noting that funding to small and micro-scale projects reached EGP 1.2 billion, which helped in covering more than 41,000 projects and securing around 70,000 job opportunities.
He added that grants to infrastructure and societal development projects in addition to training programs amounted to EGP 70 million and provided more than 163,000 job opportunities.
Rahmy also reviewed the mechanisms of the authority to reach to targeted categories and all efforts exerted to set up more fairs across the country to market for the products and services of the micro, small and medium-scale enterprises.
