CAIRO – Indian Ambassador in Cairo Ajit Gupte stressed Friday the importance of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s participation in the 18th G20 Summit that will kick off in New Delhi Saturday under the chairmanship of India.
In an interview with MENA, the Indian ambassador said his country is working hard, in its capacity as the G20 president, to promote unity among the group member states, that is highly reflected in India’s coined slogan for the G20 Summit 2023 “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.
The Indian diplomat said the current geopolitical and economic conditions gripping the world necessitate increasing cooperation among the Global South that seeks to assert itself as a major stakeholder in the international order.
He noted that Egypt and India are prominent voices representing developing countries, highlighting the great responsibilities the two counties have, as well as their promising cooperation prospects
