Egypt’s Armed Forces have carried on with efforts to facilitate conscription procedures for people with disabilities and elderly citizens across several governorates, the Defence Ministry said.
The Military Conscription and Mobilisation Administration deployed mobile committees, supported by medical and legal personnel, to Cairo, Giza, North Sinai, Luxor, Ismailia, Sharqia, Damietta, Dakahlia, Port Said and Menufia.
The committees identified eligible cases, conducted medical examinations and completed the required legal procedures in co-ordination with local authorities.
For people with disabilities who were unable to travel, conscription committees called on them at their homes to complete the procedures and deliver their conscription certificates, sparing them and their families the need to travel to recruitment centres.
The certificate handover ceremonies also featured musical and artistic performances by military bands.
Families voiced their appreciation for the Armed Forces’ efforts to ease the procedures and provide services closer to citizens’ homes.
The ceremonies were attended by Major General Ahmed Mostafa Sadeq, Director of the Military Conscription and Mobilisation Administration, and a number of governors, university presidents and media representatives.
