Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Minister Randa El-Menshawy has followed up the progress of several projects under the presidential initiative “Decent Life” across the governorates of Gharbia, Damietta, and Sohag.
The projects, being carried out by the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, include wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, and sewage networks.
Drinking water and sanitation projects constitute a top priority in the initiative, as they are essential to improving living standards and service quality in Egypt’s rural villages, El-Menshawy said.
She also emphasised the importance of accelerating implementation rates, intensifying field monitoring, adhering to timelines, and swiftly removing obstacles to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards and enter service promptly.
In Gharbia, Deputy Minister Ahmed Omran inspected expansions at Zefta, Nahtai, and Sharaba wastewater treatment plants, urging rapid completion to maximise benefits for citizens. In Damietta, Central Administration head Essam Abdel Hamid reviewed progress at Kafr El-Ghab, Om El-Roz, and Kafr Suleiman El-Bahary plants, alongside preparations for a new pumping station in Faraskour.
Meanwhile in Sohag, Central Administration head Youssef Helmy toured projects in Dar El-Salam, including sewage systems in Awlad Yehia Qebly and Mazata East, as well as the city’s main sanitation project under the investment plan.
The ministry confirmed that regular field visits and detailed reports will continue to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of services under the “Decent Life” initiative.
