Egypt’s free zone investments climb to $14.3b

The total capital invested in free zone projects across Egypt has reached $14.3 billion, the government revealed on Tuesday.

Egypt has expanded its free zone sector, with the total number of projects operating under the free zone system rising to 1,254, the Cabient said in a statement on its Facebook page.

These include 1,032 projects in public free zones and 222 projects in private free zones, it added.

free zone projects provide around 253,000 jobs, underscoring their pivotal role in supporting economic activity and attracting investment.
