Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty hosted a meeting of the regional “R4” group in New York, bringing together the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s high-level session.
The meeting was attended by Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
During the meeting, Abdelatty stressed the need to intensify efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and ensure full and safe freedom of navigation, describing it as essential to global economic stability and international trade.
The ministers agreed to maintain close consultations and co-ordination on shared regional issues to support efforts to promote security, stability and peace.
