Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Monday with Sigrid Kaag, member of Gaza’s Executive Council, to review developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and international efforts to stabilize the situation, ease the humanitarian crisis, and support early recovery and reconstruction.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Tamim Khallaf said Abdelatty stressed the need to fully implement the first phase of the U.S. president’s plan, ensuring rapid and unhindered humanitarian access. He underlined the importance of reaching a minimum flow of 600 trucks daily to meet urgent needs in Gaza and pave the way for early recovery. Abdelatty also highlighted the role of the Peace Council in supporting international efforts to consolidate the ceasefire, calling for the deployment of an international stabilization force in Gaza and pressing for Israel’s withdrawal from the territory.

The minister condemned ongoing Israeli violations in the West Bank, including repeated incursions into religious sites, and reiterated Egypt’s rejection of annexation and settlement policies, describing them as clear breaches of international law that undermine prospects for a two‑state solution. He emphasized that regional stability and security can only be achieved when the Palestinian people regain their legitimate, inalienable rights.

Kaag expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s role in supporting stability in Gaza, praising Cairo’s continuous efforts to bridge differences among parties and advance initiatives aimed at improving humanitarian conditions and fostering peace in the region.
