Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Hussein Eissa, left Cairo International Airport on Sunday for Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to represent President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the 2026 Shanghai Co-operation Organisation summit (SCO), the government said.
Eissa is scheduled to deliver Egypt’s address at the summit, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the organisation’s founding. The meeting is expected to bring together heads of state and government from several countries, as well as senior representatives of international organisations.
During his visit, Eissa will hold a series of high-level bilateral meetings with officials from participating countries and representatives of international organisations, the statement said.
