Egypt’s agricultural exports rose by 24.6 percent in the 2022/2023 export season to hit USD 3.5 billion, compared to USD 2.8 billion in the previous export season, announced the Agriculture Export Council.
The volume of agricultural exports in the 2022/2023 season reached 5.6 million tons, against 4.3 million tons in the previous season, marking an increase of 29.2 percent, the council said in its monthly report released on Monday.
Arab countries received 37 percent of Egypt’s agriculture exports in the 2022/2023 season, recording USD 1.3 billion, the statement added.
Agricultural exports to non-EU countries hit nearly USD 807 million, accounting for 23 percent of the total exports, the statement noted.
Agricultural exports to EU nations registered USD 917 million, while exports to Asian countries were estimated at USD 367 million, the statement read.
Agricultural exports to African countries amounted to USD 63 million, while exports to the countries of the North and South Americas, as well as Australia hit USD 98 million, the statement concluded.
