Egyptian-US talks to boost cooperation in field of electricity, renewable energy 1 - Egyptian Gazette

Egypt’s Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker conferred with Charge d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Egypt Daniel Rubinstein on means boost co-operation and open investment opportunities between Egypt and the US in the fields of electricity and new and renewable energy.

In statements on Thursday, Shaker lauded the distinguished political ties between both countries, welcoming co-operation with the US companies.

Shaker asserted that the Egyptian government exerted every effort to overcome the difficulties facing the electricity sector in the past period as several measures were taken and reforms made in the sector within the framework of a new strategy that guarantees supply, sustainability and wise management.

Shaker asserted that the expansions in the renewable energy helps to increase the contribution of clean energy thus maintaining the environment and rationalising the consumption of natural gas.

Meanwhile, Rubinstein lauded the distinguished ties binding both countries, asserting the necessity to support and boost these ties.

He lauded the expertise of the sector of electricity and renewable energy.

He asserted the US keenness to invest in Egypt and increase co-operation between the electricity sector and the US companies, lauding the expertise and success of the Egyptian companies operating in the sector.

Shaker asserted that the meeting reflects the keenness of the ministry to boost co-operation between Egypt and all the countries of the world in the coming period in the field of renewable energy.
