The Egyptian Armed Forces conducted a multi-day strategic command exercise within the Second Field Army’s area of responsibility.
It was attended by Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief and Minister of Defence and Military Production General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, commanders of the main branches and other senior military officials.
The exercise began with a review of previous activities and decisions taken by commanders during the exercise.
Zaher discussed with a number of participating commanders how they carried out assigned tasks and made decisions in response to changing operational conditions.
He praised the high level of planning and execution demonstrated throughout the exercise, stressing that training is the foundation of military readiness and a decisive factor in enabling forces to carry out their missions with a high degree of precision.
Khalifa also attended one of the exercise’s phases, which included a review of decisions and coordination procedures carried out by personnel from different military specialties.
He discussed with participants how they planned and managed their assigned missions to assess their ability to make appropriate decisions during operations.
The exercise was held as part of the Armed Forces’ training programme for formations and units.
It demonstrated the high level of combat readiness, coordination and teamwork among personnel from different branches and specialties in carrying out their assigned missions efficiently.
