Egypt’s Minister of Culutre Inas Abdel Daem has selected Arab musical stars from the Cairo Opera House to represent Egypt in the 30th Fuheis Festival, which is held under the auspices of Jordan’s Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh.
Led by Maestro Alaa Abdel Salam, Egyptian singers Marwa Nagi, Waleed Haider and Ayat Farouk will give a concert at the Roman Catholic Monastery in Jordan tomorrow.
Abdel Daem said the concert programme has been carefully prepared to feature the common identity linking between Egypt and Jordan.
“Egypt’s participation in the annual Fuheis festival reflects our national creativity and the notable position of Egyptian musicians at regional and international levels,” the minister said.
This year’s Fuheis Festival, organised by the Fuheis Youth Club, is themed ‘Jordan: History and Civilisation’.
First launched in 1990, the festival showcases artistic and cultural activities and hosts Arab thinkers, poets, musicians and writers.
