Egyptian researcher Amal Amin has won the international Profound Award, becoming the first Arab recipient in the prize’s history, Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said.
Amin, a professor at Egypt’s National Research Centre, was recognised by the Royal Academy of Science International (RASIT) for her contributions to science and social development, as well as her efforts to promote international cooperation and support women and young researchers.
The award is part of Egypt’s efforts to support research talent and strengthen the country’s presence in international scientific forums, the ministry said.
