Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held a phone call on Wednesday with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange views on regional developments of mutual interest.
Abdel-Aati praised the growing momentum in Egypt-Italy relations, reaffirming Cairo’s commitment to expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors, particularly in the fields of economy, investment and trade.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in the negotiating track between the United States and Iran.
They underscored the importance of building on the momentum generated by the signing of the memorandum of understanding to pave the way for more sustainable arrangements that would help consolidate de-escalation and enhance regional security and stability, while ensuring freedom of navigation in accordance with international law.
