Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone conversation with Abbas Araghchi to discuss the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nader Zaki said the two ministers exchanged views on recent developments across the region and expressed concern over the possibility of renewed military confrontations and their potential implications for regional and international security and stability.
Abdelatty stressed the importance of prioritising diplomatic solutions and demonstrating the necessary political will to advance a negotiated settlement of the crisis.
He emphasised the need for all parties to show flexibility and make compromises that serve their mutual interests, helping prevent the region from sliding into a new cycle of escalation with potentially severe political, economic, and humanitarian consequences for the region and the wider international community.
