The Egyptian Gazette, in collaboration with the Faculty of Languages and Translation at the Sadat Academy for Management Sciences, has launched a new English-language journalistic translation course.

This new course is a joint effort between Dar Al Tahrir Printing and Publishing House and the Sadat Academy.

The programme was created under an official agreement between the two institutions and is supported by Sadat Academy President Dr Mohamed Saleh Hashem, along with Dr Ali Badawi Director of the Languages and Translation Centre and Dr Halah Tawfik Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation.

The programme’s primary goal is to bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice, preparing students with the skills needed to enter the job market and supporting the state’s development efforts.
The curriculum focuses on practical training, equipping graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in a competitive media landscape.

The inaugural session, led by Amr Imam, Managing Editor of The Egyptian Gazette, provided students with hands-on training in journalistic writing styles used in newspapers and news websites.
Students engaged with practical examples of various writing formats, sparking significant interaction.

The course curriculum is designed to enhance students’ proficiency in translating journalistic content between Arabic and English, and to sharpen their skills in editing news, articles, and interviews.
Students will also gain valuable experience through practical training on real-world newsroom scenarios.

Upon completion, participants will receive accredited certificates, and top performers will have the opportunity to publish their work on The Egyptian Gazette’s website under their own bylines.
