Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel-Aati, outlined Cairo’s firm diplomatic position on Saturday during separate telephone calls with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi.
During the discussions, Abdel-Aati urged an immediate end to all military action and escalatory behaviour, calling on all parties to prioritise political and diplomatic solutions.
According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the Minister stressed that halting the spread of conflict is vital to containing regional instability, protecting civilians, and preventing further far-reaching consequences across the Middle East.
Turning to maritime security, Abdel-Aati highlighted that safeguarding freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz is essential for maintaining regional and global stability.
He warned against any actions that threaten critical shipping lanes, emphasising that protecting global supply chains and international trade remains paramount to preserving the economic interests of all nations.
The calls form part of ongoing regional consultations between Egypt, Oman, and Iran aimed at building political consensus, restoring stability, and advancing de-escalation across the region.
