Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held a telephone conversation on Monday with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, to review the latest regional developments as part of the close coordination between the two brotherly countries.
The two ministers praised the depth of fraternal ties and bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE. They also discussed the progress of negotiations between the United States and Iran. Minister Abdel-Aati stressed the importance of prioritizing diplomacy as the sole option to resolve outstanding issues and spare the region the dangers of an expanding conflict. He expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts would lead to an agreement that ends the war and paves the way for restoring regional security and stability.
Abdel-Aati further emphasized that any forthcoming agreement must take into account the security concerns of Gulf states, thereby safeguarding Arab national security and ensuring peace and stability across the region.
