CAIRO- The first direct flight line of EgyptAir, the national carrier, touched down in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, on Monday.
Egypt’s flag carrier seeks to widen its operations into the African continent in different fields of air transport.
In a statement Monday, EgyptAir said that the flight was received with the customary tradition of spraying water as soon as it landed at Kinshasa Airport.
From today, EgyptAir will operate three flights per week between Cairo and Kinshasa, it added.
EgyptAir offered a 35 per cent discount on its new flight tickets to Kinshasa until April 15.
