EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering has received the international AS9110 quality certification for aircraft maintenance management systems, the company said during the first day of the El Alamein International Airshow 2026.

The certification was presented in the presence of Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny, French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot, France’s ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier and Ahmed Adel, chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company.

Mohamed Sami, chairman and managing director of EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering, received the certificate from Fabienne Bonin, Managing Director at AFNOR UK Ltd, following a series of audits and inspections of the company’s facilities.

AS9110 is an international quality-management standard for aircraft and aircraft-parts maintenance, repair and overhaul.

Based on ISO 9001:2015, it includes additional technical and operational requirements covering risk management, maintenance reliability, staff qualification, operational safety and the authenticity and compliance of spare parts.

EgyptAir said it completed the audit without any observations, qualifying it for official inclusion in the global OASIS database of aviation suppliers. The listing is expected to help the company expand its customer base and access new international markets.

El-Hefny said the certification demonstrated Egypt’s technical capabilities and its commitment to developing civil aviation in line with international standards.

Adel described the certification as an important milestone for EgyptAir, saying it reflected the maintenance company’s operational and technical capabilities and strengthened its competitiveness in the regional and international aircraft maintenance market.

Sami said the successful audit underscored the efficiency of the company’s workforce and would open new opportunities to provide maintenance and repair services to international airlines.
