Egyptian Agriculture Minister el Sayyed el Qusair asserted that the agricultural sector in Egypt witnessed unprecedented improvements in the past seven years that meet the goals of 2030 vision.
This came in Qusair’s word on Tuesday during the inauguration of new expansions of a urea and ammonium nitrate plant in Kima district of Aswan in Upper Egypt by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The improvements aim at developing nutrition in a healthy and safe way, eradicating poverty especially in rural areas, increasing competitiveness of Egyptian exports, creating job opportunities especially for youth and women, adapting to climate changes, improving the income and living standards and promoting sustainable agriculture, he said.
The Egyptian state adopted sustainable developments that targeted all geographical areas and all segments of the society, he added.
Upper Egyptian governorates were developed and prioritized in the plans of the government despite facing several difficulties, he said.
He asserted the strategic importance of fertilizers from the perspective of the agriculture sector, adding that fertilizers help in providing the needs of the agricultural sector, boosting clean and organic planting, increasing the use of natural resources, creating job opportunities and increasing the exports shares that lead to increasing the foreign currency.
