Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met on Tuesday with Carl Skau, Acting Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), to discuss co-operation on food security and humanitarian assistance in regional crisis zones.
According to a Foreign Ministry statement, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral co-operation amid escalating regional tensions that have disrupted supply chains and exacerbated food insecurity.
Skau commended Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to foster political solutions, advance de-escalation, and alleviate humanitarian suffering.
During the meeting, Abdelatty highlighted Cairo’s ongoing efforts to ensure the full, sustainable delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip. Reaffirming Egypt’s firm support for the Palestinian people, he called for urgent international action to facilitate relief operations and drive early recovery initiatives.
On Sudan, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s steadfast commitment to the nation’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and state institutions.
He emphasised the necessity of ending the conflict through a comprehensive political settlement that restores security and stability for the Sudanese people.
