Egypt welcomed a decision by Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency to launch direct flights from Russia to Borg El Arab and Alamein international airports, a move expected to boost tourism and air travel between the two countries.
The new routes will open additional destinations for Russian tourists visiting Egypt’s Mediterranean attractions, including Alexandria, the North Coast and Alamein.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, Egypt said the move reflects the continued growth of Egyptian-Russian relations across various fields, including transport and aviation.
The ministry said the decision would also support tourism and people-to-people ties between the two countries and help meet growing demand for direct flights between Egypt and Russia.
