President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to consolidating its strategic partnership with the United States, as well as enhancing joint coordination to address regional challenges.

President Sisi also emphasised the importance of de-escalation and the pursuit of political solutions to present crises in the region.

Sisi received on Monday Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aati,  attended the meeting together with Director of the General Intelligence Directorate, Major General Hassan Rashad, and senior representatives from the US Embassy in Cairo.

President Sisi voiced appreciation for the solid bilateral relations and the positive momentum recently witnessed in cooperation between the two countries, said Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy.

The discussions addressed developments in Sudan, with both sides stressing the urgency of ending the conflict and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Sudanese people, El-Shennawy added.

In this respect, President Sisi welcomed the recent international pledges announced at the Berlin Conference to support humanitarian efforts, while reaffirming Egypt’s position on the need to preserve Sudan’s sovereignty and unity, reject external interference, and prevent any threats to its stability.

He also highlighted Egypt’s engagement in multilateral efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire and advancing a comprehensive political settlement.

The meeting also covered developments in Lebanon, where the President commended efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire and restoring stability.

The talks also addressed a number of regional issues of mutual interest, including developments in Central Africa, with Egypt expressing support for international efforts to strengthen ceasefire monitoring mechanisms and promote stability.

President Sisi further reviewed Egypt’s efforts to support stability in the Horn of Africa, reiterating the country’s firm rejection of any actions that could undermine the security of the region. He stressed that Egypt’s water security remains an existential priority and affirmed that the country will not compromise on its vital national interests.

The discussions reflected continued alignment between Egypt and the United States on the importance of reducing tensions and advancing political solutions to regional crises.

The US side expressed its appreciation for Egypt’s role in addressing these challenges and emphasised the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation between the two countries.
