Egypt urged on Thursday all countries as well as regional and international organizations willing to send humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip to deliver their assistance to Arish International Airport in order to send them to Gazans.
The Egyptian authorities decided to receive all humanitarian assistance sent to Palestinians through Arish airport.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said humanity and universal moral values necessitate that people of conscience all over the world would provide humanitarian support to the Palestinian people who are suffering as a result of the continued Israeli bombing of Gaza Strip.
The statement dismissed as groundless reports that Rafah border terminal is closed, saying the crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip is open and has not been closed since the beginning of the current crisis but the Palestinian side of the crossing was badly bombed by Israel several times, making the terminal unable to operate normally.
Egypt called on Israel to avoid targeting the Palestinian side of the crossing in order to be able to complete restoration works as the terminal serves as a lifeline to Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, the statement read.
