Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, has met with Natalia Rossi, the UNICEF Representative in Egypt, and her accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss strengthening co-operation in child health.
Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stated that the meeting reaffirmed UNICEF’s role as a key partner in supporting initiatives for child health, nutrition, immunisation, and early childhood development, in line with Egypt Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The talks focused on enhancing cooperation in primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, and expanding nutrition and vaccination programmes.
The discussions also stressed the importance of increasing public engagement with presidential health initiatives.
The spokesman noted that the Minister praised the ongoing, fruitful cooperation with UNICEF across both short- and long-term programmes. He emphasised the importance of maintaining this partnership to improve child health indicators and elevate the quality of services delivered through primary healthcare units.
