Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, received a phone call on Monday from his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The two ministers discussed the latest regional developments, mainly the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, and the developments in Yemen, amid the recent escalation.
They stressed the importance of overcoming the challenges facing the region and their impact on security in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb.
The ministers also underscored the need to respect international law and safeguard the security and freedom of international navigation.
The two top diplomats called for intensified efforts to contain tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading, contributing to greater security and stability across the region.
