CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Electricity and New and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker said that the strong strategic ties between Egypt and the UAE set a perfect model for constructive co-operation among Arab countries to promote the joint Arab action and serve the interests of the Arab peoples.
This came during Shaker’s meeting on Monday with Deputy Ambassador of the UAE to Egypt Saleh al Saadi and Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminum Abdulnasser Bin Kalban and their accompanying delegation to discuss co-operation and opening investment opportunities in the field of electricity, new and renewable energy and green hydrogen.
Shaker lauded the strong bonds between Egypt and the UAE.
The electricity sector receives an unprecedented support from the political leadership in Egypt which regards energy generation as a top priority for being a vital cornerstone for development in the different economic and social domains, Shaker said.
Several measures were taken to encourage the participation of the private sector in the projects of new and renewable energy, he said.
Meanwhile, Saadi asserted the depth of historical fraternal relations between Egypt and the UAE.
He said that his country is looking forward to boosting bilateral co-operation in numerous domains, especially those of electricity and renewable energy, promising to do more to encourage joint investments.
