The Egyptian and Turkish armed forces have launched joint air exercise “Anatolian Eagle 2026” at an air base in Türkiye, with the participation of multi-role fighter aircraft from Egypt, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan. A NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control (AWACS) aircraft also participated in the exercise, being conducted over several days.
The exercise commenced with a series of theoretical briefings aimed at harmonising operational concepts and exchanging training expertise among the participating personnel.
It is expected to feature a number of joint air missions designed to sharpen the operational capabilities of the participating forces and enhance their ability to carry out assigned tasks with greater efficiency and professionalism.
The exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to boost military co-operation and deepen defence ties between the Egyptian and Turkish armed forces.
