Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa met on Saturday with Turkish Chief of the General Staff Gen. Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, who is on an official visit to Egypt.
The two military leaders discussed a range of issues of mutual interest and explored ways to further strengthen bilateral military co-operation across a wide range of fields.
They also co-chaired the concluding session of the fifth meeting of the Egyptian-Turkish Military Co-operation Committee. They signed the meeting’s minutes outlining a series of joint initiatives aimed at expanding military co-operation and enhancing the exchange of expertise between the Egyptian and Turkish armed forces.
Lt. Gen. Khalifa underscored the strength of the longstanding partnership between the Egyptian and Turkish armed forces. He also stressed the importance of close coordination and enhanced military co-operation in support of the shared interests of the two friendly nations.
For his part, Gen. Bayraktaroğlu praised the deep-rooted ties between Egypt and Türkiye, reaffirming his country’s commitment to promoting military relations and expanding practical co-operation between the armed forces of the two countries in the period ahead.
The meeting was attended by senior commanders from the Egyptian and Turkish armed forces.
