The seventh edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference will kick off on Sunday, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates under the slogan of “No matter how far we are… Egypt brings us closer”.

The two-day conference will feature the participation of senior government officials and representatives of relevant institutions.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati will deliver speeches during the opening session, which will also include the screening of a documentary themed “Egypt Brings Us Together” highlighting state services and initiatives provided to Egyptians abroad.

The first day’s sessions will focus on the state’s policies for supporting Egyptians abroad, including economic development, investment opportunities, housing, healthcare, financial incentives, and facilitation measures.

Discussions during the event will also cover initiatives targeting Egyptians abroad, including “Your Home in Egypt,” “Your Farm in Egypt,” “Open Your Account in Egypt,” updating banking customer data, and the “Cultural Salon for Egyptians Abroad” initiative.

The second day will address the role of the House of Representatives and the Senate in serving Egyptians abroad, proposals to strengthen their ties with their homeland, consular services digitalisation, issuance and renewal of national ID cards and passports, military status settlement procedures for young Egyptians abroad, and mechanisms to support Egyptian workers overseas.

The conference will also feature six specialised workshops covering investment and industrial opportunities, education initiatives, support for Egyptian youth abroad, mental health and family support, insurance and healthcare services, and connecting Egyptians abroad with Egypt’s financial technology ecosystem.

The conference will witness the signing of several co-operation protocols, including initiatives related to ‘Speak Arabic’ programme, updating banking customer data for Egyptians abroad, the US dollar-dominated ‘Tomorrow’s Pension’ initiative, and the Youth of Egypt Abroad programme.

The conference will conclude with the issuance of a final communiqué and recommendations.
