Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk stated on Wednesday that promising results from recent tax facilitation measures have encouraged the government to continue its reform drive by further simplifying and easing procedures for taxpayers.
Speaking at an event organized by e-Finance for Digital and Financial Investments and eTax, Kouchouk noted that the strong response from the business community is a reassuring sign that Egypt is moving in the right direction. He emphasised that this success places a clear responsibility on the government to maintain and sustain its reform efforts.
Praising the performance of Egyptian Tax Authority employees, Kouchouk highlighted rising voluntary tax compliance and growing tax revenues achieved without imposing additional burdens on taxpayers. The minister stressed that the government seeks to deepen its partnership with taxpayers by providing greater support and demonstrating a genuine commitment to business expansion. Furthermore, he expressed pride in the significant progress made by e-Finance and eTax, particularly in developing expertise and building the capacity to export tax services.
