The Ministry of Military Production is seeking to expand a partnership with technology and defense company Thales to boost local manufacturing of communications equipment and electronic industries.
Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Soliman Gombalat, met on Saturday with Ahmed El-Assar, Founder and Managing Director of Masar Consulting and Business Development, and Sherif Barakat, CEO of Thales Egypt, to review progress on joint projects and explore new areas of co-operation.
The meeting focused on the manufacture of communications equipment components at the Benha Electronics Industries Company (Military Factory 144). Discussions also centred on integrating this production into global supply chains through Thales Benha, which officials highlighted as a successful model of Egyptian-French cooperation in military communications.
Gombalat reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to expanding partnerships with leading global companies, attracting industrial investment, transferring advanced technology, and enhancing the competitiveness of locally manufactured products to both meet domestic demand and boost exports.
He noted that the partnership with Thales represents a significant step towards localising advanced technologies and deepening domestic manufacturing capabilities.
Meanwhile, Barakat reiterated Thales’ commitment to expanding cooperation, supporting technology transfer, strengthening supply chains, and increasing export opportunities.
