Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati and hisSudanese counterpart Mohieddin Salem had phone talks on Sunday as part of ongoing consultations and co-ordination between the two nations.
The talks covered bilateral relations and means to further consolidate co-operation across various fields.
Abdel-Aati highlighted the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples, and stressed Cairo’s keenness on boosting co-operation in a manner that serves the two countries’ shared interests.
The two ministers also discussed developments in Sudan, as the Egyptian chief diplomat reaffirmed Cairo’s unwavering support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national institutions.
He also stressed the importance of ensuring that the political process remains fully Sudanese, preservingthe country’s resources while meeting the Sudanese people’s aspirations for security and stability.
The two ministers agreed to maintain close co-ordination and consultations on issues of mutual concern and to follow up on bilateral co-operation, reflecting the special nature of Egyptian-Sudanese relations and serving the interests and aspirations of both peoples.
