Egypt has expressed deep condemnation of repeated and provocative incursions carried out by Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under the protection of Israeli police. The Foreign Ministry said these actions were accompanied by unacceptable practices and violations that undermine the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and the established historical and legal status of Jerusalem.
In its statement today, Egypt firmly denounced the ongoing Israeli escalation in Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank, including raids, arrests, and assaults against Palestinians and their property. The ministry stressed that such actions constitute a blatant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions.
Egypt renewed its call on the international community to assume its responsibilities in halting continuous Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and ensuring respect for the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. The statement emphasized that safeguarding these sites is essential to achieving the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people and restoring security and stability in the region.
