Egypt is stepping up preparations to host the third edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival(GEF), Cairo, November 6-8, 2026, Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rustum said.
Rustum on Sunday chaired an expanded meeting to review preparations for the event, and stressed the government’s strong focus on entrepreneurship as a key driver of economic growth, innovative solutions to development challenges and venture capital investment.
Hosting the festival reflects Egypt’s leading regional position in entrepreneurship across the Middle East and Africa, he said.
The government’s Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, led by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Eissa, is closely following the sector and working to support startups and strengthen their ability to grow, he added.
The meeting emphasised the need for close coordination among participating bodies to ensure the festival showcases Egypt’s young talent and investment opportunities.
The event is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants from over 70 countries, alongside more than 100 exhibitors and 60 international speakers, including government leaders and experts in economics and investment.
Organisers said the festival will provide a major platform for cross-border partnerships and investment.
The GEF is where founders, investors, governments, corporations, policymakers, development partners, and global business leaders come together to build partnerships, unlock investments, expand into new markets, and shape the future of business.
