Minister of State for Military Production Major General Salah Suleiman Gomblat met on Tuesday with Egypt’s Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Walid Hagag, during his visit to the country to participate in the First Balkan Shield – Defence Industry Expo and Summit 2026, September 1-4.
During the meeting, Gomblat said that the ministry’s participation in the First Balkan Shield exhibition reflects Egypt’s commitment to consolidating relations with friendly and sisterly countries and opening new avenues for co-operation and partnership in areas of mutual interest.
Gomblat highlighted keenness to advance co-operation between the two sides, particularly in the field of defence industries, in a manner that serves their mutual interests.
The ministry’s pavilion at the exhibition features models of products manufactured by its affiliated companies, including weapons, ammunition, equipment and advanced electronic systems, reflecting the ministry’s industrial base and technological and technical capabilities.
The expo, as the first specialised event in the fields of defence and security to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina, provides a major platform for showcasing the manufacturing capabilities of Egypt’s military production companies, Gomblat noted.
For his part, Ambassador Hagag stressed the importance of the visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina and participation in the country’s first defence exhibition and conference.
This visit will help boost Egypt’s presence at specialised regional and international events and further consolidate co-operation and fraternal ties between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
