Egypt has sent a shipment of medical and food aid to Madagascar following the devastation caused by cyclone Gizani, according to a statement released by Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
The assistance was delivered through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development to support those affected by the cyclone, which caused widespread damage in several Malagasy cities.
The shipment included medical supplies and essential food items to assist relief and humanitarian response efforts in the disaster-hit areas.
Upon arrival, the aid was received by Madagascar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Office for Risk and Disaster Management in the presence of the Egyptian embassy in Madagascar.
Malagasy officials expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support during the crisis.
The initiative reflects Egypt’s continued commitment to supporting African nations and strengthening cooperation in responding to natural disasters and humanitarian challenges across the continent.
