Minister of Culture Jihan Zaki held a meeting on Sunday with a number of leading producers and directors to explore ways of advancing Egypt’s cinema industry and strengthening its competitiveness in the face of current challenges.
During the meeting, the minister stressed that the cinema industry remains a top priority, given its central role in enhancing Egypt’s soft power.
Zaki highlighted her close and ongoing oversight of all aspects of the sector, underscoring her commitment to direct engagement with filmmakers to address the challenges they face.
She emphasised the importance of incorporating diverse perspectives through regular consultations with producers, directors and artists, as part of efforts to foster a supportive and enabling environment for creativity.
The minister also affirmed that new frameworks to support film production are being developed in collaboration with the Chamber of Cinema Industry.
