Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk discussed on Sunday with Chairman of the Table Egg Division at the General Association of Poultry Producers Ahmed Nabil and representatives of major egg pasteurising and drying companies operating in Egypt mechanisms to support producers and provide added value to local production.
This comes within the framework of political leadership directives to support the poultry wealth sector as a main pillar of national food security and boost domestic production.
Farouk affirmed the ministry’s keenness on the stability of this vital sector, stressing that the main goal of the meeting is formulating urgent solutions to protect producers and stabilise prices around fair costs to ensure continuous production.
He highlighted the importance of coordination between the Table Egg Division and pasteurisation companies to absorb surplus production through disciplined contractual mechanisms, converting the domestic surplus into pasteurised and dried egg products suitable for food industries, hotels, and bakeries.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to form a periodic follow-up committee from the Animal and Poultry Wealth Development Sector, the Table Egg Division, and factory representatives to immediately oversee the execution of the agreement and resolve any logistical obstacles.
