Egypt seeks to boost defence, military co-operation with world countries

Senior commanders of the Armed Forces held a series of meetings with a number of military leaders and representatives of major international companies specialised in armament. The meetings were held on the sidelines of the Third International Defense Industries Exhibition “EDEX 2023”.

The commander of the strategic command and the supervisor of the military industrialisation, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled, met a delegation from the alliance of Turkish companies working in the field of defence industries. He also met representatives of French companies of Safran Electronics & Defence, Dassault Aviation, and Safran Aircraft Engines.

Vice Admiral Ashraf Atwa, Commander of the Navy, also met a delegation from the American company Lockheed Martin. He also held talks with the head of the Spanish Armaments Authority, the Commander of the Cypriot Navy, the Commander of the Ghanaian Navy, and representatives of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) working in the field of maritime industries.

Lieutenant General Mahmoud Fouad Abdel Gawad, Commander of the Air Forces, also met with the Chief of Staff of the Rwandan Air Forces and the Ugandan Minister of State for Defense and Veterans Affairs.

He also met representatives of the Chinese companies CETC, NORINCO, CATIC and ALIT, representatives of the American company Lockheed Martin, representatives of BHARAT and HAL of India, representatives of the Italian company ELT, representatives of the German companies HENSOLDT, DIEHL and ROHDE, representatives of the Korean company LIG NEX 1, representatives of the Greek company SAS DRON, representatives of the Turkish company Roketsan, and representatives of the American companies Marvin and Northrop Grumman, and the French company Airbus.

Lieutenant General Mohamed Hegazy, Commander of the Air Defense Forces, also met representatives of the American company North Robb Grumman, representatives of the German companies HENSOLDT and DIEHL, and representatives of the Chinese companies ELINC and CPMIEC.

Major General Kamal Wafa, Head of the Armaments Authority of the Armed Forces, met the Deputy Head of the South Korean Defense Agency and the Deputy Director of the French General Department of Armaments for African and Middle Eastern Affairs.

The meetings dealt with ways to enhance co-operation relations in various military fields and increase the prospects for strategic partnership with all military forces of friendly and brotherly countries.
