The activities of the joint Egyptian–Saudi naval exercise “Red Wave 8” concluded on Monday, marking the successful completion of a multi-day training operation hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Taking part in the drill were naval forces from Jordan, Sudan, Yemen, and Djibouti.

The exercise featured a comprehensive programme designed to enhance joint operational readiness and strengthen coordination among the participating navies.

Training components included live-fire exercises by naval Special Forces, drills to counter fast-attack boats, and operations to detect and track hostile submarines.

Participating units also conducted artillery strikes on surface targets and executed a series of advanced crusing formations.

The final phase showcased a complex simulation involving the storming of an island, supported by extensive air force fire preparation and close air support. The scenario concluded with forces surveying and securing the coastline to ensure the successful progression of the amphibious assault.

Attending the closing activities were the Commander of the Egyptian Naval Forces alongside naval commanders from all participating countries, reflecting the strong commitment of these countries to bolstering regional maritime security and enhancing their collective combat capabilities.
