CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones Mohamed Abdel Wahab met with Emirati and Cypriot officials to review the most important investment opportunities available in Egypt, the Cabinet said in a statement on Saturday.

Abdel Wahab met with Marwan Bin Jassim Al Sarkal, the Executive Chairman of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, to mull ways of boosting mechanisms of cooperation and attracting more Emirati investments to Egypt, as the Sharjah authority implements many investment projects in the fields of tourism, services, real estate development, retail activities, and water recycling.

Representatives for the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority will visit Egypt in November to review the proposed projects.

Abdel Wahab also met with George Campanellas, the Chief Executive Officer of Invest Cyprus, the country’s investment promotion agency.

The two sides reviewed investment developments in Egypt and Cyprus, as well as ways to activate joint investments and cooperation.

They also discussed arrangements for holding an Egyptian-Cypriot investment forum in Cairo.

The Egyptian official met as well with Saif Al Mazrouei, the Head of Ports Cluster -at Abu Dhabi Ports.

They probed the new investment projects the group intends to launch in the field of developing and managing ports, operating cruises, and establishing dry ports in Egypt.
