CAIRO – An Egyptian court has requested the Interpol to expedite the arrest and extradition of fugitive contractor Mohamed Ali and other defendants in the case known in the media as “the Joker”. The court has also deferred the case to July 27.
According to the prosecution, Ali and 102 other defendants called for organizing mass gatherings in Suez in September 2019 with an aim of endangering public peace, assaulting citizens and preventing policemen from practicing their duties using social media platforms.
