Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has reiterated Egypt’s firm position of supporting all efforts to reach such a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis that fulfills the aspirations of the Yemeni people and effectuates its free will.
The President expressed this position in remarks he made while meeting Yemeni Minister of Defence Lieutenant-General Mohamed Ali Al-Maqdashi on Monday, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said. Minister of Defence General Mohamed Zaki and the Yemeni ambassador to Cairo attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the President stressed that Egypt will spare no effort to help Yemen achieve these goals which are in harmony with the principles and constants of Egyptian foreign policy.
For his part, the Yemeni defense minister praised the cooperation relations between Egypt and Yemen in all fields, especially at the military and security levels.
He also expressed his country’s aspiration for Egypt, the biggest Arab country, to continue to support efforts aimed at containing the situation in Yemen and ending the humanitarian crisis there.
