Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar agreed in a telephone call Friday to step up coordination on regional developments and security issues, Egypt’s foreign ministry said.
The ministers praised the historic ties between their countries and said they would work to expand cooperation in political, economic, trade and investment sectors.
They also discussed efforts to ease regional tensions, restore calm and strengthen regional security arrangements, according to the ministry.
Abdel-Aati and Dar exchanged views on deeper security and defence co-operation and pledged to continue close consultations, particularly under a four-party regional mechanism, to support stability and security in the region.
