Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel-Aati, held on Saturday a telephone call with his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to discuss the ongoing US-Iran negotiations and the fluid regional security situation.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Khallaf, the two ministers exchanged views on the Washington-Tehran talks, focusing on efforts to contain tensions and advance regional de-escalation initiatives.
Both sides stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable pathways to resolve outstanding issues and prevent an uncontrolled escalation that could threaten regional peace.
The ministers emphasised that the volatile situation requires flexibility and responsibility from all parties, noting that sustainable calm can only be achieved by addressing the security concerns of all sides.
