Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk has said that increasing productivity and boosting competitiveness are top priorities under Egypt’s economic transformation programme.
He stressed that the government has attached great importance to promoting exports and supporting manufacturing and service industries, which offer considerable opportunities for growth.
Kouchouk made the remarks on Wednesday during the annual celebration of Talabat, the online delivery platform.
The minister said Egypt was working to make better use of its resources to support development, stimulate economic activity and improve public services.
He added that the economic transformation programme aimed to provide better services for the middle-income class while maintaining social protection programmes for vulnerable groups.
The government also seeks to create more jobs, raise incomes and expand access to essential services, he said.
Kouchouk stressed that the success of the Egyptian economy was closely linked to the growth of businesses, describing Talabat as a model of innovation and private-sector development.
He praised Talabat Egypt for exporting innovative services, ideas and business practices to other markets.
